Delete your Rooms.net account
You can delete your Rooms.net account yourself, at any time, from the app or from this website. You do not need to ask us, and nothing here costs anything. This page explains how to do it and exactly what happens to your data.
How to delete your account
In the Rooms.net app (iPhone or Android)
- Open the Rooms.net app and sign in.
- Tap Profile in the bar at the bottom.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account.
- Read what will happen, enter your password if your account has one, and confirm. Accounts that sign in with Google, Apple or a passkey are not asked for a password.
On the Rooms.net website
- Sign in at rooms.net.
- Go to rooms.net/Account/Delete, or open your profile and choose Delete your account.
- Enter your password, type DELETE to confirm, and submit.
Deletion takes effect immediately and cannot be undone. If you cannot sign in — you have lost access to your email, say — ask through our contact page and we will verify who you are and do it for you.
What is deleted straight away
- Your name, email address and phone number.
- Your profile, including your photo and anything you wrote about yourself.
- Your password, any passkeys, and any Google or Apple sign-in link.
- Your saved rooms, saved searches, alerts and notification settings.
- Any "room wanted" advert you posted.
- Any device registered for push notifications.
Any rooms you have listed come off the market at the same time.
What is kept, and for how long
Some records are not only yours. A message you sent sits in someone else's inbox; an application you made is a landlord's record of who applied to them. Deleting those would take away another person's copy of something they took part in. So they are stripped of your name, email address and phone number, kept for 12 months, and then erased.
Financial records, where any exist, are kept for six years because HMRC requires it. Analytics counts are kept, but the link between a count and you is removed at once.
Our privacy policy sets all of this out in full.
